ISLANDERS have one more week to join thousands in casting votes for their community heroes.
Voting for the 2024 Jersey Evening Post Pride of Jersey Awards – which opened earlier this month – closes this Sunday at midnight.
Around 25,000 individual votes have so far been cast across the 14 categories, which range from Environmentalist of the Year to Angel of the Year.
Those wishing to remind themselves of the nominees can find them all profiled with their achievements and stories at prideofjersey.com, where votes can also be cast.
There were an impressive 186 nominations across all the categories this year.
The three nominees with the most votes in each category will become finalists, all of whom will be invited to an awards ceremony in October.
Winners are chosen by a panel of judges from the shortlisted and will be announced on the night of the event.
Physical voting forms are being printed in the JEP every day, and there is also the option to vote online at prideofjersey.com.
JEP editor Andy Sibcy said: “The first week saw a record number of votes cast, but there will be many more readers who want to show their appreciation for the diverse and inspirational ways in which the nominees have helped bring the community together and help others.
“Please do vote so that we can make some otherwise unsung heroes know how much they and what they do are valued.”
