GET ready to name your community heroes, as the nominations for Pride of Jersey 2025 are now open.
Organised by the Jersey Evening Post, the annual community event – now in its tenth year – aims to honour individuals, charities, and other organisations that go the extra mile.
Nominations can be submitted by heading to the dedicated Pride of Jersey website or using the form in the Jersey Evening Post.
Following a public vote in September, three shortlisted finalists in each of the 14 categories will be invited to a glittering ceremony on 15 October where the winners – each selected by a panel of judges – will be announced.
Each winner will receive a prize worth £1,000 from the category sponsor.
The ceremony will also see the Gary Burgess Award presented to a community champion, with the winner chosen by members of the media and the late broadcaster’s loved ones.
Pride of Jersey 2025 is supported by joint main sponsors DFDS and Jersey Post.

Last year, the event saw a record-breaking 315 nominations put forward, which received 33,289 public votes between them.
Antonia Rubio, who was named 2024 Young Ambassador of the Year for how she connected with thousands of people while documenting her journey after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year, said it “meant so much” to be nominated.
She said: “The awards really highlight the amazing talent and passion we have on this island and showcase the work of Islanders and groups that would otherwise go under the radar.”
James Cunningham, founder of James’ Ark, said it was a “real honour” to be named 2024 Mental Health Champion of the Year for his male mental health advocacy.
“Some days you question yourself and moments like this remind you that you are making a real difference,” he said, going on to encourage Islanders to nominate someone and “give unsung heroes in our community a chance to be seen”.
“The event brings something Jersey really needs right now – light, hope, and a sense of unity. In a time when the island feels like it’s struggling, this event reminds us of the good that still exists all around us,” he added.
The nominations deadline is 9am, Monday 11 August.
